In particular, The Art of Classical Guitar; A Complete Method (Vol 1 & 2) has been in wide circulation since Vol 1 was first published in Sydney in 1989 - and that includes Australia, New Zealand, and at various times the UK, Europe, and USA. However, inconsistent distribution made this much sought-after book and the later series hard to obtain at times, but these are now available to anyone. The series has been described by one international distributor as “the ultimate professional method book for the serious student who wishes to master classical guitar” (Lorenz, USA). Original new repertoire and technical pieces from these books have been selected material and set works in the Australian Music Examinations Board guitar syllabus for over 10 years.
Both volumes can also be purchased in PRINTED BOOK form from Amazon.com.
Volume 1 of the Guitar For Kidz series was first published in 2000. It immediately received enthusiastic reviews for its straightforward approach where simple musical melodies (not necessarily classical in origin), were learnt with classical guitar technique and practiced with enjoyable play-along CD tracks – this is in effect a ‘duet’ learning format, with the solo classical guitar style coming later in the book.
Volume 2 of this series soon followed, and although it is a collection of solo guitar two-part pieces intended for younger students, the musical arrangements within this book have become commonly used by mature age students beginning the guitar too.
Volumes 3 and 4 are the ensemble music editions, Ensembles for Guitar (beginners level) and More Ensembles for Guitar (intermediate level). These have been widely and successfully used by many teachers and literally hundreds of guitar students since their publication.
The Sheet Music section contains one-off solo and duo pieces (some never previously published) for students and teachers to use. Some are free downloads while others are to be purchased – revisit this page to check on new additions as they occur or subscribe for updates.
